Technical index requirements for acupuncture needles

The quality of acupuncture needles is related to the therapeutic effect and patient safety, and it has strict technical index requirements. Firstly, the hardness of the needle body should be ≥450HV0.2 to ensure it has sufficient hardness to complete the needling operation. The tip of the needle should be round and straight without any deviation, without burrs, hooks or other defects. After being pressed against the hard block with the specified force, the puncture force should not exceed 0.7N. This can reduce the patient's pain. The needle body should have good toughness. After the winding test, there should be no cracks, breaks or delamination. The surface roughness parameter Ra of the needle body is ≤0.4 μ m to ensure its smoothness. The connection between the needle body and the needle handle must be firm. During the pull-out test, the axial displacement of the two should not exceed 3mm. Only acupuncture needles that meet these indicators can be safely used in clinical practice.
